Knightsbridge International participates in TSUNAMI Relief Efforts in Sri Lanka
Four members of the Knightsbridge International team, Robert Marcarelli, Dr James Laws, Ed Artis and Jonathan Cohen arrived in Sri Lanka soon after the Tsunami and began what would become a four month relief mission.
Knightsbridge International had been invited to participate in a series of massive long-term relief efforts including the delivery of relief items, including medicines donated by Knightsbridge and our partner NGO, MedPharm, ( www.medpharm.net ) as well as coordinating the future delivery of at least four additional shipments into the region.
Urgently needed lifesaving medicines and medical supplies were either donated or purchased by us from our partner NGOs such as MedPharm, the REMEDY Program at Yale University, (www.remedyinc.org) and Sharing Resources Worldwide, ( www.dean.org/health_ed_srw.html ) to name only a few.
During these four months we partnered with various individuals, local and other foreign NGOs in the construction of more than 100 temporary and permanent houses, the provision of fishing nets and the repair and reconstruction of damaged or destroyed fishing boats.
Our efforts to help those affected by this horiffic disaster continue even today.
For instance, we can purchase a package of medicines especially assembled for us that will provide for the basic medical care for 10,000 people living in the conditions that many of the survivors of this horrific tragedy are for up to one full year. For every $ 50,000.00 that we raise, we can purchase and physically deliver such a shipment of medicines, which have a wholesale value in excess of $ 1,800,000.00 per package. ( A list of these medicines is available upon request )
We need your financial support in order to do this. Donations specifically earmarked for the purchase of medicines for our future shipments to this disaster area can be made to Knightsbridge International either online:
